Ghost Profiling

August 16 at 7:30 p.m., PRS welcomes back Miller’s Paranormal Research. Meet with Deeann, Brenda and Misty as they walk us through the ins and outs of Ghost Profiling. Ghost Profiling is a new and exciting program with multiple applications and uses. Come and learn the basics of this new investigative system, listen to their true ghost stories, and hear from the ghosts themselves!
Miller’s Paranormal research is a group focused on investigating possible hauntings. They are committed to using both psychic and scientific means in their search, however, their focus is in assisting a spirit in moving on. Angels at Play Weekend Event!
Come get "Stoned"!

Join PRS for the weekend of July 17th and 18th as we welcome back our longest returning vendor and long time supporters of PRS, Cindy and Dennis Smith from Angels at Play. If you have ever had a question about a stone or mineral (I know Bill Knight has), then Cindy and Dennis are for you! Their workshops are a great place for the beginner to start learning to work with stones; and the advanced student who will always find something new! Cindy and Dennis bring a large collection of stones for you to look at, touch, handle, and when you “hear” it call your name, purchase to take home and work with.

Dennis will be bringing his knowledge, experience, and stones to the PRS building to discuss everything stone! From healing properties to energy work, Dennis knows his stones, and will bring some in for the group to play with. If you have a stone that you wonder about, bring it in! Cindy will also be attuning your stones with crystal skulls during the break. This meeting is free and open to the public, so bring a friend and be prepared for a good time.

Cindy will be presenting a workshop entitled “Prepare for the Main Event: 2012”. This will be information that she has channeled from K’Osh (pronounced Osh) on healing the mind and body, creating options and change, restoring the soul and reigniting the path. The workshop is $25 to attend. It is potluck, so bring a dish to share. PRS will provide service, drinks and dessert.

Playing for the Sacred Clown

This month PRS welcomes back Lee Slusher, aka Stumbling Deer. Stumbling Deer is a Native American flutiest and well versed in the traditions of his people. For his discussion on June 21st, at 7:30 p.m., Lee will be demonstrating the uses of the flute, and speaking on the Sacred Clown, or Contrary in Native American culture.
Now if you are like me, when you heard Sacred Clown you thought of a white painted face with a red nose and lips, and some very crazy hair. This is not your carnival clown, but rather a sacred duty within the tribe. The basic purpose of the Clown or ‘Contrary’ is to be just that: contrary. When it is cold outside they might wear shorts and complain about the heat and conversely, when it’s warm they might have gloves on and remark on the extreme cold. They are expected to act outside of the norms of society. One of the ideas behind doing so is to allow for the reexamination of those standards, and to expose the truth. PRS is pleased to welcome back Judy Lundquist for our meeting Monday, May 17th at 7:30 p.m. Judy is a highly accomplished astrologer, and has utilized her many skills to look at the “Cardinal Cross of 2010”, a major astrological movement happening in late summer.
Have you noticed that we’ve all had some shake-ups this year? The skies have aligned for big changes in our government, work, and personal lives. These changes can be difficult to maneuver through, intense, and upsetting. But they don’t have to be. Judy will go through what these rare and powerful astrological alignments mean for the world as a whole and for each sign, providing tips and methods to work through these changes to bring joy and prosperity, our divine right, back into our lives.

The Word of the Day is "Communicate"!

This February 13th at 7:30 p.m. PRS is thrilled to welcome back our very own Past President and Lifetime Membership Award winner Laura Franks! Laura has been teaching energy work and healing for over 30 years. She is a Reiki Master, Kryia Master, and Psychic Surgeon. For the meeting on the 13th, she has chosen to focus on communication.
First Laura focus on communication with our inner self. Typically we think of communication as an action projected away from ourselves such as talking to a co-worker or smiling at a friend. These communications allow us to understand the world around us, and therefore have a better understanding of ourselves. However, by communicating with our inner selves we can gain clarity of purpose and self-respect, propelling us in more satisfying directions and a greater respect for others.
Second, Laura will help us communicate with our master guides. Master guides are beings in the spiritual realm who have agreed to assist us in our earthly journey. The relationship you have with your master guide is very special, and communication with your guides can be very informative and rewarding.
Finally Laura will guide us through communicating with a dolphin. Dolphins can provide us “with insights on life in the ocean, and some tips on learning to lift our mood,” Laura says.

Come celebrate on Saturday, December 5, at the Annual Christmas and Awards Dinner with the organization that brings us together and the people who make it happen. There will be food, friends and laughter (all for free) and if you stay a bit longer, awards for PRS’s shining stars of the year!
The theme of our celebration this year is “Signs of the Year”, and focuses on the signs of the zodiac. Bring a pie with your sign, wear your zodiac jewelry and colors, or none of the above and just come and enjoy! This is about good times with great people – you won’t want to miss it!
PRS provides the turkey and ham, service and punch, leaving the sides up to the graciousness of the group. Have an out of this world green bean casserole? Bring it! Make a stellar pecan pie? Bake it! Do meteor showers cook better than you do? Buy some moon pies or star crunches and bring a smile!
Come with family, friends, fellow members, a smile and a plan for a good time! Don’t forget: the PRS building, Saturday, December 5th. The building will be open at 5:00 p.m. and we’ll start serving dinner at 5:30 p.m. It will be a “Signs of the Year” party to remember!

Discover the 8th Chakra!

Join us Monday November 16th at 7 p.m. as we explore the 8th Chakra with speaker Lauralei Bradley.
Chakras are energy centers associated with different parts of the body from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Their function is the energy creation of our physical, mental and emotional bodies. Big job, huh?
Lauralei will be taking us beyond the traditional 7 chakras to discuss the 8th chakra located approximately 8-10 inches above the head. She describes this center as the energy “that Coordinates Lifetimes, Recycles Your Old Energy & Provides Access to Your Christ Consciousness Self.” Her intention is for us to be able to consciously move this energy to improve our lives.

Come One, Come All – to the Annual PRS Members Appreciation Picnic!

That’s right, my friends and fellow members! It’s that glorious time of year where we gather for food, friends, and fun – the PRS Annual Members Appreciation Picnic on Saturday September 19th.
Starting at 5 p.m. there will be a fire, hot dogs, chips, drinks of the non-alcoholic persuasion, and most important of all, the fixings for s’mores! Have something special for picnics in your family? Bring that too!
Those who came last year might remember the drumming circle that got started after the eating portion of the picnic. It was such an enjoyable and unique experience that we are hoping to entice all those with drums or any instrument they would like to use or share to bring them and play again.
Also a carry over from last year, we will be having an informational session and practice for those who would like to read at the fair but never have. Our Past President, Sherry Davenport, will be giving some tips for new readers starting at 4 p.m., and there will be a practice session beginning at 4:30. PRS is happy to host Paul Finney speaking on “How Acupuncture Works” on Monday August 17th at 7:30 p.m.
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that uses tiny needles to pierce the skin. Traditionally these points parallel the body’s natural meridian lines or energy pathways, also known as Qi (Chi). Each point aligns with an organ or part of the body, and when pierced in the proper way, opens up the flow of energy so that the body may resume healthy functioning.
Paul Finney has been practicing acupuncture for over 20 years. He has studied the craft all over the world including Sri Lanka and China. An Evening with Bill

PRS is very excited to welcome back Jolene (Jo) Andersen and her partner Vic Contoski on Monday, July 20th at 7:30 p.m.. Jo is a channel who allows a non-physical entity, Bill, to speak through her, providing spiritual information and answering the questions of their audience.
Since 1971 when her mentor and friend, Bill, died, Jo has continued to receive messages from him, starting with a sighting and visits in her dreams. Over time Jo began to use automatic writing to receive Bill’s messages, and now is able to openly channel him.
When Jo became aware that Bill’s messages needed to reach a wider audience, she and Vic began conducting a class entitled “Spiritual Awakenings” in Lawrence , Kansas. Jo is not “conscious” during these channeling sessions, but allows Bill to take over. Vic assists by taking notes and guiding the audience in their interactions during the channeling. Sacred Geometry Energy Healing

David Bradley has been a student of metaphysics and spirituality all his life. He is a gifted Reiki healer and has learned to work with Sacred Geometry healing from his master guides.
From his guides, David has learned that our life pattern is directed from our astral body which directs the physical part of our life. Our energy patterns assume different geometric shapes and can actually be seen in the aura. When those patterns get out of balance or misshapen, so do our human experiences. Planetary (and personal) Ascension Process

Many of you will remember Rainbow Woman from her wonderful sacred sound presentation at PRS two years ago. She is a gifted intuitive, Reiki Master Teacher, energy healer, sacred sound maker and visionary artist.
Rainbow Woman had a life-changing awakening 20 years ago. As a result of this Awakening, she gave up her career and sold her home. Although it was difficult, she did as she was asked, and has followed the Voice of Spirit ever since.

Join us Monday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m. when Roberta Hustead shares her passion for astrology, a wealth of information and helps us explore the basics of compatibility based on moon signs.
Roberta’s love affair with astrology began 10 years ago when a complete stranger came up to her at a local astrology group meeting and told her some very personal things that had happened in her life. She was hooked. She began to study astrology on her own and then with teacher Kathleen Goodyear.
Roberta says, “Even with just a basic working knowledge of astrology, one can understand a person’s general makeup and how to better communicate with them. And maybe even if they would be a good love match for you!”
Roberta asks that you come to the meeting with an open mind and your birth date and exact time if possible, but just knowing morning or evening will help. And yes, you do need the year (but we promise, nobody will tell!) While she will talk about men and women and Mars and Venus, she will concentrate on the romantic moon.

2009 Predictions Meeting

So…how about making a New Year’s resolution to attend more PRS meetings...starting with the 2009 Predictions meeting on Saturday, January 17 at 7:30 p.m! It’ll be the easiest and most fun resolution you keep this year.
Each year, a panel of the very best local psychics get together and make predictions for the New Year. Each panelist has approximately ten minutes to present their predictions and then the meeting opens up for Q and A. It’s fun, fast-paced and fascinating!
This year’s panel includes (in alphabetical order):
John Murphy – John is an experienced Tarot reader, Reiki Master and prediction panelist. For the last several years he has brilliantly handled the enormous job of Vendor Coordinator for the Psychic Fairs and serves on the PRS Board.

Picnic with a Plus and a Plus!

Saturday, September 20, at 5:30 p.m. PRS will host its annual Member Appreciation Picnic. Members and their families are invited to come enjoy hot dogs (veggie dogs if you prefer) and all the fixin’s, cooked over a campfire in the backyard of the PRS building. You are welcome to bring a dish to share. This is a real picnic…be sure to bring your “situpon” (lawn chairs, blankets or other ground cover).
The Plus
Would you like to practice reading, or get a reading? Several folks who attended Paul Caruso’s workshop in July on how to read the tarot asked to have a time to practice. So…here’s your chance. Anyone who would like to volunteer to read for an hour at 4:30 p.m. is welcome to bring their cards, crystals, pendys…and practice at tables set up inside. If you’d like a 10- minute mini-reading (just like at the Fair!) come at 4:30 also.
Another Plus
After the s’mores are eaten and the sun has set, stick around the camp fire as Pam Patterson has agreed to lead us in a circle to drum the heartbeat of Mother Nature. You are invited to bring your percussion instruments to help with drumming, or you can just be a part of the circle.
If you are a new member, the picnic is a good place to get to know others in the group. If you’ve been a member for a while, it’s a great time to catch up with your PRS family and help welcome the new folks.

Reading with the Tarot
Paul Caruso is one of the bright, young, very accurate, new readers at the PRS Fairs. Although he has been reading for friends for about five years, Paul has been a reader at the last two Fairs. Paul is a full time student, who makes time for his spiritual studies along with his university work.
Paul reads Tarot and will spend some time during his presentation discussing the history of the cards and their individual meanings. He invites you to bring your own deck and work along with him. Then, he will walk you through the steps he has learned that go to make up a successful reading experience for both you, the reader, and for the client sitting on the other side of the table. Even if you read with a different oracle, the steps to a successful reading are the same.
Don’t be shy…come practice reading with Paul at the PRS meeting on Monday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the PRS building and is free and open to the public.

Pendulums 101
If all this serious “education” talk has you frowning…don’t worry…there is no test…and it doesn’t count on your final grade!
Your instructor for this workshop is Kitty Collins. “The first pendulum I ever picked up was during a lecture at the PRS Fair about 8 year ago, and I’ve been hooked on them ever since. It’s one of the reasons I’m such a big supporter of the Fair!” Kitty has been a student of energy work for many years. She is a Reiki Master/Teacher, is active in Kriya practice, is ordained for both a healing practice and spiritual counseling, and holds a Master’s degree in education.
So get in the “swing” of things this spring at the PRS meeting Monday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the PRS building. Pendulums 101 is free and open to the public. There will be a drawing for a very special pendulum at the end of the meeting.

Deck the Halls…
Start your holiday celebration off with some great energy on Saturday, December 1, 2007 with PRS at the annual Christmas Party and Awards ceremony.
The "halls" will already be decked, the turkey and ham cooked so all you really need to do is come! The social hour begins at 6:15 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. PRS members and their families are invited to bring a dish to share and PRS will furnish drinks and table service. Dress up if you wish, or just come casual.
The Awards ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. and many presentations are made to PRS members for the time they have given to PRS in 2007. Come find out who will be named this year's PRS "Reader of the Year" for the most readings done at the Fairs, and "New Reader of the Year" for the first-time reader with the most readings.
Capping off the evening will be seasonal music presented by PRS member Nikki Williams and her group "One Accord."
What will make the evening most complete is for you to come! Before the holiday season gets too frantic, come make some new friends, visit with those you've known before, enjoy some good food and entertainment, all in a relaxed atmosphere. Of Sound and Spirit

Her presentation will explore the world of Sound using her own personal Journey as a frame of reference for the energy work she does.
Rainbow Woman is an intuitive, energy worker and sacred sound-maker. She has been working with Spirit for almost 20 years and is focused on helping people deepen their connection to Spirit through energy work and individual consultations.
Her own journey with sound as healing began when she started hearing (through her hands) the sounds emanating from people who had come for energy work.

Jo Andersen
Featured Speaker at PRS Fall 2007 Psychic Fair
"You are always safe in the present time" is one of the messages from the non-physical entity, Bill, who is channeled by Jolene (Jo) Andersen. Bill, Jo and her partner Vic Contoski are the featured guest speakers at the PRS Fall 2007 Psychic Fair.
Jo is a long time resident and former mayor of Lawrence, Kansas. In 1971, when her friend and mentor Bill died, he continued to send her guidance. For almost 15 years, Bill and other guides have used Jo to share this wisdom with others. In 2004 it became apparent to Jo that she needed to become a facilitator so that these teachings could be more widely known. Since then she and Vic Contoski have been conducting their "Spiritual Awakenings" classes in Lawrence. The focus of these classes is to help students learn to recognize and take back their own personal power as they overcome their fears.
At the Fair, Vic and Jo will give a history of how they came to teach their Spiritual Awakenings classes. Jo will then channel messages from Bill. Jo is not a "conscious" channel for Bill...that is...she does not remember the messages she channels at the time they are being channeled. Vic assists her by taking notes and facilitating the meetings and questions from the audience. Vic will also share some of his experiences with channeled message and beliefs about reincarnation.
PRS is pleased to present "Spiritual Awakenings" in the lecture hall on Friday, October 19 at 5 p.m.; Saturday, October 20 at 1 p.m.; and again on Sunday, October 21 at 1 p.m.. The Fair is held at the MCC Exhibit Hall, 1775 Universal Ave, Kansas City, Missouri (I-435 and Front Street. Go west on Front St to Universal. Turn north on Universal and follow the signs). Admission to the Fair is free to PRS members. Admission for the public is $10 for all three days of the Fair.

PRS in the Park
The annual picnic is a great place to s-l-o-w down and spend some quality time with your friends in the PRS community. If you don't know anyone in the PRS community, the picnic is a great place to get acquainted. By the time we get to the s'mores, there won't be a stranger in the group!
The Program Quality Board makes the picnic really easy to attend by providing hot dogs, (even stuff for the vegetarians among us) and all the fixin's. Bringing a dish to share is totally optional.
This year the picnic moves to Wyandotte Park, Pavilion #11 (a most auspicious number). There is a playground nearby, and parking is convenient also. The pavilion has tables and benches. If you prefer sitting in a lawn chair or picnic blanket, you do need to bring those.

You are always safe in the present time" is one of the messages from the non-physical entity, Bill, who is channeled by Jolene (Jo) Andersen. Bill, Jo and her partner Vic Contoski are the featured guest speakers at the August 18th PRS meeting.
Jo is a long time resident and former mayor of Lawrence, Kansas. In 1971 when her friend and mentor, Bill, died he continued to send her guidance. For almost 15 years, Bill and other guides have used Jo to share this wisdom with others. In 2004 it became apparent to Jo that she needed to become a facilitator so that these teachings could be more widely known. Since then she and Vic Contoski have been conducting their "Spiritual Awakenings" classes in Lawrence. The focus of these classes is to help students learn to recognize and take back their own personal power as they overcome their fears.
When they come to PRS, Vic and Jo will give a history of how they came to teach their Spiritual Awakenings classes, and will present a sample introductory class. Afterwards, Jo will channel messages from Bill. Jo is not a "conscious" channel for Bill...that is...she does not remember the messages she channels at the time they are being channeled. Vic assists her by taking notes and facilitating the meetings. Vic will also share some of his experiences with channeled message and beliefs about reincarnation.

Millions of Years in the Making…
Dennis presents his one-of-a-kind walk through the world of stones and crystals. If you've ever wanted to know which crystals are used for what things, Dennis is the man to ask! His knowledge of the mineral world will amaze you! Angels at Play always has a large booth at the PRS Fairs so you've probably met Cindy and Dennis there. They will bring their stones and crystals to this meeting and you can touch the stones, feel the energy, ask questions, and even purchase stones in our own private showing.
While Dennis shares his knowledge of the stones and crystals, two other activities will be available. As time permits, Cindy, who is a gifted intuitive, will do stone attunements for audience members. Also from Angels at Play is Cheri Copeland, who will offer demonstrations of her cranial sacral work.

In this day-long workshop, you'll learn more in depth ways to use the stones.
New to the Angels at Play presentations at PRS is Cheri Copeland. Cheri is an intuitive healer who follows a Native American path and moves energy to restore the body to its perfectly designed blueprint. Cheri will share how she incorporates the energy of the stones and crystals in her cranial sacral treatments.
Cindy will channel information from the jade skull teacher Kh'osh (pronounced "osh"). Kh'osh, through Cindy, will give information from the Pleiades on how stones and crystals were "seeded" here on earth for us to use to expand our consciousness and facilitate our growth. Cindy reports that Kh'osh has special information to share with us about rose quartz.
Also for the first time at PRS, Kh'osh will take questions! Audience members can ask questions of Kh'osh and Cindy will channel the answers. Kh'osh will be available during the weekend for individual meditations as well.

Numerology Held June, 2007
Wow! What a great experience the June meeting was! Wanda Chappell, our guest, expounded on the laws of numerology. She began the meeting with some handouts – I mean really great stuff! There was a page on The Pythagorean Number System explaining the numeric value of each letter, and what the nine numeric vibrations meant. For example the number one (1), denotes independence, self-motivation, and the need to be in charge.
Also in the packet was a Numerology Work page for each of us to determine our Soul number, Power Name # and our Personality #. In addition, we looked at our birthdates and found out our Life Path #, Attitude # and our Birthday #. Each one of these categories means something different for the person. For example, I learned that my Power Name # is 2 or 11 (eleven). This interprets to “a teacher without a classroom” Wanda also said “you probably couldn’t get away with anything as a child could you” Boy, if she only knew!! (Obviously, she does!!!)
Additional handouts included a couple of pages on the Glynis interpretation system. One titled Glynis Has Your Number and another titled Glynis System. And finally, there was a handout titled Uniquely You, also explaining interpretation of the numbers 1 through 9.
I sat with two other PRS board members and we had a great time comparing numbers and were all amazed at how accurate the numbers were. Wanda Chappell has spent the last twelve years learning the art and science of numerology. Numerology is a divination tool that deals with the relationship between numbers and physical objects and living things.
Wanda uses birth dates and birth names in her reports for clients. She believes we selected both names and dates before we came to this lifetime in order to draw to us the specific lessons our souls want to learn.
We finished up the evening with Wanda asking each of us what our number were and she would use her vast wisdom and experience to tell us more about ourselves.
